I took this photo of my good friend Andy Wyatt as he climbed the famous "Golden Triangle" section of The Evolution Traverse in the High Sierra of California. Behind and to his right you can see the wild and exposed ridge connecting the remaining summits of the traverse, finishing on Mt. Huxley, the peak in the upper righthand corner of this image. While I had done this traverse before, Andy and I climbed it in near-winter conditions in October after a recent snowfall, which made the climbing significantly more involved and the mountains even more beautiful than they normally are. The Evolution Traverse has to be one of the best (and longest) rock climbs in the world, with over eight miles of ridge climbing connecting nine distinct summits, most all of it at an elevation of more than 13,000ft.
